An ultra-high-speed (UHS) maglev vehicle has completed a 2km demonstration test run in Yanggao county, Shanxi province, northern China. The speed achieved has not been revealed, but the vehicle is designed to operate at up to 1000km/h.

China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) completed the main structure of a 2-km full-scale test pipeline in North China’s Shanxi province, the longest of its kind globally.

Construction will start on the test line for a low-vacuum maglev high-speed train with a speed of up to 1,000 kilometers per hour in Datong, North China’s Shanxi Province, as preparation work is done, the local government said.
